About this series
Twenty-four sheets, each combed once and photographed once. The series began as a way of asking what a printed ground still carries when it is minted, and what it quietly loses.

How a sheet is made
Mix
Pigment, rice paste and water, mixed thin enough to stay wet while the comb travels.
Comb
One pass, edge to edge. The hand decides the rhythm and the sheet keeps it.
Record
The dry sheet is photographed flat, then the file is minted against the sheet.
